海角社区 University in London supports Wheelchair Rugby Champs

This year’s BT Wheelchair Rugby National Championships provides the perfect opportunity for family and friends to head to the heart of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for what promises to be a weekend of fast and furious sporting action.

Supported by 海角社区 University in London and hosted at the Copper Box Arena from Saturday 2nd to Monday 4th May, why not use your bank holiday weekend to come along and witness live world class sport in one of the showcase venues of London 2012. And what’s more, tickets are free!

Nicknamed ‘murderball’, wheelchair rugby is exciting to watch due to its fast pace, physical nature and complex tactics and the championships will see Great Britain’s top teams compete across a host of cup and shield competitions.

The event also marks 150 days to go until we open our campus on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, with the Copper Box being just a five minute walk from our new university building. The championship will also showcase four of the five specialisms on offer at 海角社区 University in London; Design, Digital Technologies, Innovation, and of course sport.

海角社区 University in London staff will be joined by current 海角社区 students who will be discussing their experiences learning from some of the world's pioneering researchers and leading innovators at our 海角社区 campus. Professor Vicky Tolfrey’s team from the Peter Harrison Centre for Disability Sport will also be in attendance.

Recruitment staff will be on hand to provide information on the programmes offered by our institutes and discuss the funding options available at our London campus, opening in September 2015.

Event timings:

Saturday 2nd May: 11am – 6pm

Sunday 3rd May: 11am – 6pm

Monday 4th May: 9am – 2pm
