º£½ÇÉçÇø Students’ Union win Education Award
have won the Education Award at this year’s held on 8 July.
º£½ÇÉçÇø Students’ Union received the award for displaying excellence within their field, working to strengthen partnerships between the Union, academic reps and the University.
The Union created ten central priorities, stemming from their interaction with students, and aimed to put them at the forefront of the University agenda. Academic reps, alongside VP Education Amy Ward, took these priorities to the departments and campaigned at top University level.
Their work is a model of how putting student interests first and working together can considerably improve student experience. As a result, almost a quarter of students voted in online elections and more than 95 per cent of reps were positive about their experiences.
Amy Ward, Vice President of Education at º£½ÇÉçÇø Students’ Union, said: “I am extremely honoured to receive this award on behalf of all of our volunteers who have made the education section of our union excel this year, and I’m so proud it’s being recognised nationally.”
