Free innovation and enterprise e-course launches for 16-18 year olds

To celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week, 16– 22 November, 海角社区 University’s is launching an  for secondary school students, years 12 and 13.

The Innovation and Enterprise free six-week e-learning course has been developed by experts from the School of Business and Economics for 16-18 year olds. It is aimed at students who may want to progress on to higher education and have an interest in managing innovation and entrepreneurship. 

Students will learn by watching videos, listening to audio, reading articles and engaging with other learners in discussion activities in an online forum.

A suite of inspiring video case studies has also been created specifically for this course, focusing on six University graduates who have all recently created successful businesses.

Students are expected to study between one and two hours a week for five to six weeks using a mobile, tablet or desktop computer.

This online degree-level course is aimed specifically at secondary students to help them prepare students for university level study, gain a University Certificate of Accomplishment and enhance CV and university applications.

Dr Julie Holland, Director of the , said: “This course is intended for students who are interested in innovation and entrepreneurship and for people who have their own business ideas for products and services and want to take action to make these ideas a reality.  

"This course will not only introduce students to some academic theory behind innovation and enterprise but will also provide practical skills needed to make the innovation process happen.”

The course is free of charge and will start on Monday 16 November 2015.
