All the postcards in the exhibition will be for sale, with proceeds going to a local children’s hospice charity, .
The students from Joshibi will be in the UK for a month, continuing a long-running exchange between the two universities. They will see the University’s campus and arts facilities, take part in English classes and spend time with º£½ÇÉçÇø’s Fine Art and Foundation students.
Paula Gamble-Schwarz, Programme Director for Art and Design Foundation Studies, said: “This is a very special opportunity for our Foundation students to work in collaboration with visiting Joshibi students. Over the past two years, both cohorts have worked in unison to create a body of work that encourages engaging dialogue and mutual understanding of their respective cultures. From this venture springs not only a very rich and varied body of work, but also lasting friendships.
“We are delighted to be able to support Rainbows Hospice which provides such a valuable service to local children and their families.”
Tension will be open to the public 10am-4pm, from Tuesday 26 February until Friday 1 March in the Fine Art Gallery, based in the School of the Arts, English and Drama, º£½ÇÉçÇø University, Epinal Way, LE11 3TU.
